Our small quiet Downtown Asheville building, built in 1885, was a department store in the early 1900s and still has the original windows and brick walls. Lynne has been hosting guests in the condo since 2005, making improvements every year. When you get off the elevator and enter the condo you will feel like you have entered another world from the bustling downtown scene. Open a bottle of wine that Lynne and Steve keep stocked in the kitchen (they just ask you to leave money on the counter), take a seat at the window and relax, watching the people exploring the city below. The bedroom is very quiet and many times you feel as if you’re the only person in the building. You can ride the elevator to the first floor, which opens right into the local favorite – the Lobster Trap – which brews their own beer, has an oyster bar, and serves lobster flown in directly from Maine.

Parking is available on the street or in the large covered parking deck across the street for a maximum of $8/day. You will feel secure in the condo, as the building is locked at street level but also has a buzzer system to allow visitors to enter and come up on the elevator or stairs. The Lobster Trap, a popular seafood restaurant, is on the first floor, and Spa Theology, a beautiful day spa, is right next door and they offer special packages for our guests. If you have special requests, such as chocolates or flowers for a special occasion, you can ask your hosts, Lynne and Steve, and they will accommodate you whenever possible. One guest recently asked Lynne to borrow a backpack, so now we keep one in the condo for guests to use for day hikes, as well as a small cooler. Just ask if you need anything – Lynne’s studio and Steve’s office are both within two blocks of the condo.
